IN PHOTOS: From Northern Lights to Mount Lewotobi's eruption, natural phenomena around the world this week

It has been an eventful week around the world as people were able to witness the Aurora Borealis in different colours, as well as the eruption of the Mount Lewotobi volcano in Indonesia

Aurora Borealis, more popularly known as the Northern lights illuminates the sky above North of Vaasa, western Finland, on October 11.

The lights popularly for their unique colours were also seen in United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany in different hues of pink, purple, green and blue. 

The Northern lights are seen in the sky in high-latitude regions, and are caused by magnetic storms due to solar activity.

Mount Lewotobi is an active twin volcano in Indonesia that is located in the southeastern part of the island of Flores in the country. The volcano last erupted from December 23 in 2023 to January 1 in 2024.
