From popular hangouts like Lonavala with its chikki and fudge treats, the beaches of Alibaug, quaint and green pastures of Malshej Ghat, to boating in Bhandardara - a two-hour drive from the city can transport you to another world.

Pick a destination of your choice that is close to the city and tweet to us with the hashtag #mumbaiescape followed by your story and @mid_day.
