We've bid goodbye to the monsoon, and now is the time to look beyond dark clouds and set our sights on the stars. Welcome the sky observation season with the first sky show at Vangani to be held this Saturday. Khagol Mandal, a group of amateur astronomers, will be hosting the season's first overnight sky observation session this weekend.
Vangani, where's that?
Located at roughly 40 metres above the sea level, Vangani, is a small town that falls on the the Mumbai CST-Karjat railway route. Away from the hustle bustle, and the city lights, Vangani presents a great location to gaze on the sky. Besides, its remoteness ensures that you get a break from the city's polluted air and breathe in some fresh air.
How to get there
Participants can catch any of the Karjat-bound trains to reach Vangani at least by 6 pm for registration. The programme will go on till 5 am and will include two sky observation and two telescope observation sessions.u00a0
