India has been facing grim situation owing to the deadly second wave of the COVID-19. The pandemic has affected people on many levels and has had a devastating impact throughout the country. Everyone has been facing numerous problems since March 2020. However, the ones who faced the brunt of it were the poor, vulnerable and underprivileged. The minutest of help has mattered in these dire times. Many noble migrants from the 'Land of the Gods', Uttarakhand have been coming forward to help the needy.
One such gentleman who has come ahead to lend a helping hand is Mr. Gopal Giri Goswami, who is a native of Bamradi village in Bageshwar district. The son of Vishna Giri Goswami and Jamuna Devi, originally from Bamradi, Gopal Giri Goswami is a Surat-based businessman. He has sent an Oxygen Generation Plant (OGP) worth Rs 38 lakh from Gujarat to Bageshwar at his own expense.
The OGP will be set up upon its arrival at the Trauma Center of the District Hospital within a week.
When Gopal came to know about the scarcity of the oxygen cylinders at the District Hospital, Bageshwar, he took the onus to arrange for the OGP to the hospital. He gathered all the necessary information about the process. With the guidance of the officials of the Health Department, he dispatched the OGP from Gujarat. On June 12, Saturday, the plant had reached New Delhi by transport.
Gopal Giri Goswami had revealed that it pained him to see how badly the natives of his village were suffering. Hence, he decided to put in efforts and do everything in his control to be of help to them. Gopal further mentioned that he had decided to set up a plant in Bageshwar, so that there will be no shortage of oxygen for the Coronavirus-infected patients.
The prep work has been going on in the place since a long time to install the OGP for all the patients of COVID-19. All of this has been possible with of the Health Department in the district. However, the work of setting up the plant has not begun. In these tough times, this oxygen plant is a boon and will be no less than a life-saving equipment for the district.
Gopal has gone out of his way and is constantly helping the people of Uttarakhand ever since the lockdown had commenced. He did not stop there. He also made it a point to send the numerous villagers and migrants stuck at different places back to their homes safe and sound. He wants to spare no effort and do each and every single thing possible for the benefit and the betterment of the people of the Bageshwar district.
Despite various hurdles, the cause to provide the oxygen plant and help people from his native has driven Gopal Giri Goswami to do such a selfless act. His support and willingness to help the locals are beyond commendable.
