Sports and Athletics are all about proper training, a good coach, years of practice, and dedication, yes this is something we all know. But have you ever thought about how the injuries, muscle strains, and the pain during practise or a match disappear so easily, have you ever thought of a face behind this? Since the sportsman and players can encounter injuries and muscle strain-related problems anytime, Dr Firoz Shaikh has been proving to be a good physiotherapist for the team, as he ensures that the team get the best of rehabilitation and minimises the injury rate in the team.
Dr Firoz Shaikh is a well-known Indian sports physiotherapist and sports scientist who is currently the Head Physiotherapist for the Odisha Football Club. In season 5 of the Pro Kabaddi League, an Indian professional Kabaddi league, he worked with the Puneri Paltan Team. He has also worked with Maharashtra Olympic Association, Maharashtra Cycling Association, and Maharashtra Cricket Association, among others.
Odisha FC Physio Dr Firoz Shaikh recently completed the ISL 2020-21 season. During the pandemic, he worked with the team to keep the players fit and provide proper training and rehabilitation. He spent the previous two seasons of the Indian Super League (ISL) with NorthEast United FC (2018-19 & 2019-20). The team qualified for the playoffs for the first time during his tenure with the team. He began his sports physiotherapy career as the Maharashtra team's Senior Sports Physiotherapist while on their way to the 35th National Games in Kerala in 2015. He's also collaborated with several international celebrities, including Asamoah Gyan, Bartholomew Ogbeche, and Federico Gallego.
Talking about the educational qualifications of Firoz Shaikh, he has done his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya and completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) from CMFs College of Physiotherapy. He has done his Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) from Dr D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pune.
With years of experience, Dr Firoz Shaikh is looking forward to work for the betterment of the team and stand as a pillar to support during the training as well as matches. Currently, he is preparing for season 8 of the Indian Super League with Odisha Fc, which is going to be held from 21st November 2021 to 22nd March 2022.
