Education is the hallmark of any developing nation and Institutes of higher education play a mighty role in shaping the lives of young minds of the country. Mahavir Education Trust is one of the very famous organizations promoting the cause of quality technical education in Mumbai for several decades now.

Mahavir Education Trust was established in the year 1983 with generous donations of two main donors, Shrimati Laxmiben Karamshibhai Shah & Shah Lalji Velji Anchorwala which resulted in the birth of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College in 1985.

Accolades :

Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, is Jain Gujarati Minority Institute, affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Approved by D.T.E., Maharashtra and A.I.C.T.E The Computer Engineering Program has been re-accreditated and the Information Technology Program has been accreditated by N.B.A., New Delhi for 3 years w.e.f 1st July, 2019. The Institute has also been ranked in the 251-300 band by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for the NIRF 2020

Academic Force:

SAKEC have a dedicated team of highly qualified full time faculty who train the students and impart quality education for the holistic development of the students. SAKEC also invite guest speakers from the industries who make the students aware of the practices of the corporate world. Students are engaged in live projects, experiential learning, learning by travelling via industrial visits and hordes of fun activities throughout the year which make them well balanced individuals who can responsibly contribute to the nation's development.

Innovative Practices and Social Responsibilities :

The Management encourages students to implement new innovative technologies for the day-to-day usage in human life. Students have successfully implemented many live projects which have helped the society at large to keep pace with technology. Also, students are encouraged to participate in activities of Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) where they not only teach technology to the less privileged children but also share their knowledge with the specially challenged ones. Our students are encouraged to organize marathons supporting social causes.

The students also made to support Programs like the Make in India and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan promoted by the Government of India. Staff and students are further encouraged to practice yoga by celebrating the International Yoga day.

Research Activities :

SAKEC have been undertaking consistent efforts to align our R&D activities to achieve technological competence and professional standards. The faculty and students undertake research projects in thriving areas of science, engineering, management and technology. Many of our projects offer opportunities in fundamental research that are focused to tackle live problems. The projects under the banner of SAKEC Research Cell work for the benefit of industry and society. SAKEC have established partnerships & are looking forward towards more such collaborations with some NGOs, Universities

Protection of Intellectual Properties :

SAKEC encourage students as well as staff to protect their own intellectual properties by filing patents and copyrights for the same. A well established IPR Cell guides the students and staff members in how to apply for patents and also for copyrights for their respective research works.

Activities:

The students of the various departments host a variety of inter-college activities, organize regular seminars in various subjects, workshops in contemporary issues and cultural activities that hone their various skills like organizing, teamwork, leadership and conflict resolution. Various sport activities at State and Zonal levels are also given ample promotion to aid the overall development of students.

Placements :

The Institution believes in providing world class education to its students, steeped in Indian ethos and value system. Students available for placement have been taken through a very rigorous and practical programme and are ready to contribute to the corporate world.

Over the years, the placement record of the Institute has been exemplary, with excellent placements. Over 148 reputed companies visited our campuses in the previous placement season of 2020-2021, a big number of whom were repeat visitors. The packages offered were in the range of INR 3.3 lakhs to INR 12.5 lakhs per annum. Even the Pandemic could not affect the placements of our students and till date we have been able to place 95% of our students in the corporate world. A team of dedicated staff members under the able guidance of Dr. V. C. Kotak work to ensure the smooth functioning of the placement process.

International Alliance :

International Universities Fair : Every year the Institute invites a number of representatives from Universities of United States of America (USA), Australia, Italy, NewZealand etc., and conducts an International Universities Fair. In this fair students and their parents aregiven guidance regarding how to prepare for higher studies abroad and what preparations need to be made by both the parents as well as the students.

Global Immersion:

Global Immersion embarks and shares our presence on a Global Level. It shows our promise to the commitment towards the growth of our students career and learning. SAKEC believe that continuous Learning is essential but when an experience associates to the learning on a global level, it becomes unbelievable. With London and Europe, we had our students taste a very good mix of culture along with technology and that helped incorporate skills in our students which makes them more confident and sustainable for life not just as a student but as a true professional

The Future

Under the leadership of Chairman, Shri Jayantibhai Keshavjibhai Chhadva and other trust board members including Shri. Damjibhai Shah (Anchorwala), Shri. Navinbhai Shah, Shri Shamjibhai Vora, Shri. Jadhavjibhai Shah, Shri Piyushbhai Shah, Shri. Mansukhbhai Shah, , Shri. Atul Damjibhai Shah (Anchorwala), Shri. Premjibhai Rambhiya and Principal, Dr. Bhavesh Patel, our endeavor is to achieve a massive design of engineering education not only in India but across the Globe. The trust will continue the journey of providing the best possible educational facilities to generate a pool of quality engineers who are the future of our nation.
