Hyderabad’s Fashion Heiress, Sudha Reddy Is A Golden Hour Goddess At The 2021 MET Gala Red Carpet

Joining the likes of Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Kendall Jenner, was the wife of billionaire Megha Krishna Reddy, Sudha Reddy who made an impressive debut at the glitzy soirée.

Making a regal entry in a spanking white Rolls Royce, the business doyenne debuted at the glamorous soirée donning a bespoke ensemble by Falguni Shane Peacock, Chanel, Judith Leiber and Farah Ali Khan. Giving an Indian touch to the ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion' theme, her military-inspired haute couture look was inspired by the American Revolution.

While Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Isha Ambani and Natasha Poonawala attended the past editions, Sudha Reddy was the only Indian celebrity spotted this year and is the first non-film luminary from the state of Telangana to attend the "Party Of The Year," the "Super Bowl Of Fashion," and the "Oscars Of The East Coast".

We caught up with her for a quick chat -

How did you land up at the Met Gala 2021? What was the experience like? I was beyond excited as I'm always looking forward to putting India on the world map. For me this was an opportunity to showcase not just myself but represent my country and my city. While Met Gala is the greatest fashion night, for me it was an opportunity to propel the cause of benevolence and align with individuals who see the merit and potential in the concept of giving back to society.

According to you, who was the best dressed at the occasion and why? I was pretty intrigued by Kim Kardashian's choice of outfit and I felt she was point on in bringing to the fore the resilience of the fashion community after a pandemic induced challenging two years. In terms of best dressed I loved Rihanna, Billie Ellish, Iman and Kendall Jenner!

How do you wish to admire the world's biggest fashion outing all your lifetime? I am of the firm opinion that the industries of fashion and entertainment can lend to larger causes given the industry's vast popularity. It was an honour to be invited for such a prestigious global event where eclectic minds congregate for a cause larger than themselves, that of philanthropy. Philanthropy is my life's purpose and something that I hold very close to my heart. I have always aspired to shine the spotlight on various socio-economic causes faced by the less fortunate sections of society in India on a global platform through my various appearances and associations.

Hailed as one of India Inc's most noteworthy philanthropists, she spearheads the Sudha Reddy Foundation that focusses on affordable healthcare and accessible education. She also oversees the businesses of Megha Group Of Industries and TruJet Airlines and was the only Indian to be nominated for The Global Gift Empowerment Of Women Award.
