How India is getting itself vaccinated - Registration process explained

The government of India has been following various strategies to tackle the coronavirus problem since the day it started getting spread in India. First, we went with the lockdown which resulted in slowing the expansion of the virus, of course.

Then, it was all good for several months but then the second wave took over the country and this time, we got hit hard.

In the meantime, the government also came up with the vaccine for coronavirus and now lakhs of people are getting vaccinated daily. The virus is obviously spreading fast but vaccination might help in tackling at least a proportion of the problem and we are hopeful for that.

For this, the government launched an online portal called Cowin portal where users can find online registration options. The covid vaccine registration process is very simple.

Here is detailed information about how people can get vaccinated through the Cowin portal set up by the government of India.

On the official Twitter handle of the Arogya Setu App, there was a notification on 28 April 2021 which said - Registration for 18 plus to begin on cowin.gov.in website as well as on Arogya Setu App or UMANG App.

One has to go to the portal and then register using their information and mobile number. After that, they get a unique reference ID that tracks the progress of their covid vaccine appointment.

Also, regarding the cost of registration for the vaccine, the good news is that registration is absolutely free. One can register for free using the Cowin portal.

Another good thing is that you don't need to have your Aadhaar card for online registration of the Coronavirus vaccine in India.
