Harm Franklin

Born in Toronto, Harm Franklin is a Canadian singer-songwriter of Punjabi heritage that has been making waves in the music industry. His song "Stunnin" has gone viral seemingly overnight, taking social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram by storm. Harm is one of many artists who have found their way into the spotlight through social media channels like YouTube or SoundCloud, but his success is not without substantial effort. Building a name for himself in his hometown, Harm organized and headlined his own shows while bringing out his Republic Records collaborators Nessly and Puffy L'z.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Harm looks back on those early years, stating, "I remember like five or six years ago, label/industry people would tell me it's gonna be really hard for me to be successful in the hip-hop space 'cause America hates brown people due to all the terrorism stuff in the media. But because of people like [Indo-Canadian hip-hop artist] Nav, it's a lot easier for us to be accepted 'cause they've seen it already now."

Despite personal hardships and industry prejudice, Harm has found success around every corner. Harm toured across Europe with international rapper Tymek, beginning at the Fresh & Dope festival in Poland. The tour spanned six countries in total; an impressive feat for a breakout artist. He has been featured on blogs such as Billboard, Lyrical Lemonade, GENIUS, and twice on Complex's Northern Touch Song of The Month. Fans may also recognize his writing from Merkules' 2018 album "COLE" which charted at #1 on Canadian iTunes with the song "Michael Jordan" charting at #19 on Billboard Hot 100. One of Harm's songs become an official theme song for The NLL team (formerly known as The Edmonton Rush) for the 2016 season. This garnered public attention, resulting in an invitation to play at Rexall Place in front of 8,000 people.

Harm is one of the most recent to join S.K.A.M. Artist Management, alongside artists like Nick Cannon, T-Pain, and Pete Wentz. S.K.A.M. is hard at work helping Harm with his next album that will drop in Fall 2021, a collaboration with producer, HOUNDS. Harm also enlisted entrepreneur, Justin Ashar, to join his street team with the Pug Life Agency.

In an interview with FOX NEWS, Harm said the recognition and chance to rub shoulders with industry-leading artists was "humbling" but confirmed for him that he was heading in the right direction. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Harm has called 2020 the "best year of [his] life", due to the bountiful success the year brought him. He pondered whether people being at home with more time to listen to music attributed to his success, but it's plain to see he has no intention of squandering the chances he's been given throughout the past year.

Though he's only become a household name in recent months, music is far from new for Harm. Having dappled in writing since grade five, the artist began started recording right as high school ended.

Harm has been described as being "very sensitive to his surroundings and experiences," a comment encapsulates Harm's sound - a unique, fresh, blend of emotional vulnerability and finely-tuned talent. This powerful combination gives his songs a genuine feel that has resounded with listeners across the world.

With his latest release, Pacman, Harm is gearing up to continue the momentum he's been building with previous hits. Impressively, the artist has been dropping a new single monthly. His track record includes Last Year and Bad Guy, both premiering on Rolling Stone India, in addition to Sorry I Finessed U and Teacher - a sultry track that caught the attention of fans and labels alike. It's clear we haven't seen the last of Harm Franklin, and a bounty of new projects are on the horizon.
