"Whatever you give; comes backs to you in thousand folds" with this philosophy, Mr. Sunil Varghese along with Rajendra Pathak and Jugender Singh founded Child Help Foundation(CHF). CHF was registered as a trust under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 in 2010. Child Help Foundation, as the name suggests, is a child centric organization and they work in the best interest of child with pan India presence. CHF focuses and strives to provide the basics needs such as education, health, food and shelter. Child Help Foundation has completed a decade of "Bringing Smiles" to the underprivileged with more than 10 Lakh beneficiaries till date.
CHF successfully runs several programs and their 2000+ selfless volunteers are working day and night on the field to make a difference that will create a pathway of development for children now and future generation to follow.
Child Help Foundation propagates the âculture of giving' with the mission of changing lives through reaching out to underprivileged children and empowering them for a bright future. This NGO has provided children with health and nutrition facilities as well as access to good quality education. They have a holistic approach of equipping children with the necessary tools for a better life. They work closely with underprivileged families and communities and make tangible improvements in the societal lifestyle. Emergency Medical Support is the flagship program of the organization where they help children with critical illnesses and get the right medication and health support.
Talking about Child Help Foundation and its initiatives, Spokesperson and CEO of Child Help Foundation (CHF), Mr Shaji Varghese said, "Welfare of Underprivileged Children being the core focus of our organisation, we work at the grass-root level where the underprivileged parents of children suffering from life-threatening diseases approach CHF seeking help for their child's treatment. To give them all possible medical support, CHF has tie-ups with India's top hospitals across the country like Tata Memorial, Hinduja, Kokilaben D. Ambani, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, All India Medical Science(AIIMS), SBM and C K Birla Hospital."
Apart from Child Help, the organization is also working on other fronts like propagated the value of hygiene and sanitation across the country by building several toilets, equipping schools with water filters and urinals with proper sanitation facilities. They have provided aid to people who were affected by natural calamities like floods, cyclone and COVID19 pandemic. CHF successfully runs several programs encompassing Emergency Medical Support, Education, Wash, Gender Equality, Zero Hunger, Humanitarian Relief, Life on Land and Life Below Water.
CHF has won various awards in 2019-20: The ET NOW - Rise with India Award for the Best NGO in Healthcare, Best NGO in Education for Girl Child, Best Award for Cancer Prevention, Award for Dedication and Commitment from Tata Memorial Hospital, and the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award for benevolent efforts for social welfare. In August 2021, CHF received three awards at the 7th Edition of National Awards. These awards were awards for the "Best Covid -19 NGO for Community", "the Best Healthcare NGO of the Year", and "Best NGO for Education for Girl Child".
