Aditi Jhunjhunwala
Thousands of students in India have Aditi Jhunjhunwala to thank. Through her consultancy business, she has taught them lifelong digital skills that have enabled them to successfully enroll in their university of choice. For her technological impact in the education sector, she was named âEntrepreneur of the Month' in Silicon India's April 2020 edition.
AJ consultancy is a design education consultancy which has two verticals :
I play the role of a consultant and help students to construct a professional design portfolio that can be used when applying to various art and design universities, world over.
Sharing my passion for design I help students hone their design skills and train them to cement their software skills.
" Get Artsy " Weekend Series : Sunday evening hands on sessions like digital print making, food typography and sensory art for kids grew in the pandemic and is an offshoot of AJ Consultancy. Along with the regular software education sessions the 40 mins workshops during the weekends are a healthy way to engage kids in something constructive and keep their minds of academics in the summer break.
With everything being online we have gone around the globe and reached out to kids from the remotest of towns. Our last workshop hit 65 kids out of which 30+ kids were from other parts of the world. We plan to continue these hands on and digital software education sessions.
While establishing her company, Aditi had to face numerous challenges, including advocating the importance of digital skills to staunch adherents of traditional curricula as well as changing people's perception of design's potential. Nonetheless for Aditi, it was a journey well-worth travelling. One of the greatest proof points is the rise in clients from non-creative backgrounds approaching her for help.
"We are in a globalised world and especially during these unstable times, technology is even more so a great resource. My aim for AJ Consultancy has always been to prepare young individuals to meet the challenges of the future," she shared. "Digital skills and design thinking is thus a way for them to build sustainability into their careers."
