Siddharth Malhotra and Anil Charanjeett
Actor Anil Charanjeett, who is currently tasting the success of his recent hit Shershaah shares an emotional memory from the sets of the film in Kargil. Anil, whose birthday falls on September 5th shot his own funeral scene for the film. The actor plays the role of subedar Bansi Lal Sharma in the Capt. Vikram Batra biopic.
Talking more on this, he reveals, "I was jokingly telling everyone a day before about my birthday that don't tell anyone that tomorrow is my birthday and yes no cake. On 5th September, I was waiting like a kid that someone will bring cake or there will be some kind of a surprise but at around 6 pm, an Assistant Director came and told me that we are ready for your funeral scene. I was quiet for a moment and then straight to set inside the coffin wearing cotton in my ear and nose. The moment I went inside the coffin, Siddharth and Vishnu sir started wishing me happy birthday and after a while, everyone got busy talking to each other and I was just looking at them and went into a trance. I felt as if I'm dead and people have gathered around me talking to each other and have moved on with their lives."
"Tears started dripping from my eyes, Siddharth even jokingly said "Tu Kaisa hai apni death pe ro raha hai? I tried to cover it by saying no it is because of the light I just need a tissue for a minute. Everything I did in my life started coming in flashes and dreams which were unfulfilled. That moment changed my perspective towards life. We have less time and absolutely no time to think what others might think. Life is unpredictable, make the most of it and live the life to the fullest," Anil adds.
Sharing further, Anil says, "It was a bittersweet experience, fun as a fellow actor as we had spent so much time together that while shooting the funeral scene also there was leg-pulling going on but sad for the character, for the supreme sacrifice, our soldiers did for us. That's how actors are once the came is on it's the story, the characters and pure emotions."
