Working for a reputed organization and making them proud with your work culture with regards to dedication, hard work, and quality check is the most vital part of the dreams you see. Apart from this, recognition is what an employee seeks the most. The reason for this is that the barter system has highly been influential for years. We tend to have a mindset of getting some returns for the work we do.

If you think this way, it's right…isn't it?

Working hard day and night to uplift your organization with certain abilities you have, is the goal every career-building employee seeks the most. Recently, in a Contact Centre Digital Awards Summit, there was a name that hauled everyone's attention and bought a buzz amongst the rest was Sachin Hosabettu.

How did you feel while achieving this set target?

I was overwhelmed by winning the prestigious Contact Centre Leader award at the Summit. I always had this thought of getting recognition for the work I do. Recognition pushes you more to work hard and create a benchmark in this competitive world. At this moment, I witnessed several questions that posed a reason to know what hardships have I gone through, how did I manage every circumstance to navigate through the ups and downs to reach this podium, and much more.

The Initial Experience

Well, my 18+ years of work journey has been filled with adventures, grinding my way to achieve the set target. Being a black sheep of my family, I had always my father's back with appreciating thoughts from my family members, concentrating on my brother who supported me to an intense extent. My journey started from working in a BPO way back in 2002 with the graveyard shifts from 12 am - 8 am. At that time BPOs were not so famous, and also no one knew the concept of a Call Centre.

I still remember that people used to call me, ‘Call Centre Wala', as they did know how much hard work we used to put in and make things better than before. Working in an International BPO was a tough task as interacting with people in a different accent, new learnings, and ways to know every country's work culture was a big deal. I started by selling credit cards wherein I got to know my sales attributes and eventually learned the tricks of the trade. This excelled me in my work and got promoted in time to lead a full-fledged team of experts.

One more question was stroked on me with regards to my struggle. Trust me, I got emotional while answering this tough one!

What was your struggling decade all about and how would you share your learnings?

I took some important moves by travelling to different companies to upgrade and explore my abilities learning under some professional and experienced individuals. Reaching my second milestone, Tech Mahindra Business Services, I learned many professional traits. Working in a new atmosphere means collaborating with new colleagues and a much-desired positive workspace. Extremely far-sighted approach and friendly atmosphere was something I got to learn from my highly talented senior officials like Suchitra, Paresh, and Biren.

This company mainly invested in appreciation, certifications, and upskilling sessions for their employees which in turn changed my perspective of thoughts towards the business & people. We were taught to bring in the perfect blend of people and performance management as all of them were important in building a profitable and bonded team. My work life changed while working at the ground level where the 4S - Sushil, Sunil, Sanjay & Satish helped me as a reminder of letting me know what to do and what not to do. I received multiple awards and recognition during these four leaders' reign in my 8-year tenure.

What values have Upstox made an impact in your professional life and made you a visionary professional?

At Upstox, I witnessed down-to-earth founders who did not only had a business-driven approach but also have an employee-centric mindset. Though I am not an official spokesperson of Upstox, I would like to bring this fact before everyone that, these guys have been working with a true vision for business growth and know how much crucial a customer is to a brand.

I have been working under Punit Maheshwari, the director, and my mentor for the last 3 years. He gave me an understanding of how dealings with different approaches could enhance my abilities to create solutions to problems. It has been a fantastic journey here, and I think it's my good fortune to work with great leaders like Kavita (Dept. for Growth) and Vinit, who has been my driving influencer, being a loyalist to the company. I would want you to check out the app of Upstox. (#startkarkedekho)

One crucial question popping up took me back to the era of working alone when I was new to this industry.

Impact of Covid on the Career

Covid19 has driven all businesses to a financial setback. The economy has been collapsing in the past 2 years with health crises occurring in many countries including India. Organizations have been influenced by the mindset of work from home forcefully.

Working from home, organizing streamline work for 100+ people is not an easy task. Starting the day and ending up in mystery has been my daily chores now. But with good people around the top of the business mountain has made it simpler.

My wife and daughter are the most motivational part of my life who have been consistently supporting me during my ups and downs. Trust me, working for numerous hours for office and post getting more love from your family is like walking through the pathway of heaven.

Mentioning most of the names here was according to a motive that no matter how much you upgrade or degrade in life, you need to go with the flow with positive people who help you in every situation possible to skyrocket your abilities!
