We take a look at 7 Motorola smartphones that are still popular and doing the round successfully in the Indian smartphone industry


When words are surfacing around Nokia's comeback and the nostalgia-driven Nokia 3310, we realised that Motorola is also one of those brands that dominated the golden past of mobile phones. When mobile phones meant just a portable handset devoid of the present day smartphone features, Motorola's wireless telephone handset division pioneered the world of cellular telephones.

As Motorola went on to pioneer the cellphone division, it launched trendy handset like the Moto RAZR, a flip phone that was the then favourite of many, especially youngstars. Unfortunately, the company lost its market share in the second half of the decade and many of us forgot the brand's contribution. Motorola later came up with smartphones using Google's open-source Android mobile operating system. Today, Motorola is a prominent name in the smartphone industry, thanks to its frequent launches starting like the Moto G, Moto C series. We take a look at 7 such latest Motorola smartphones that remind us of the company's big cellular devices available in the past:

1. Moto G2: The second generation Moto smartphone was launched almost 3 years ago in September 2014. The phone that runs Android 4.4.4 and powered by 2070mAh non removable battery have drawn the attention of Moto lovers. The phone's perfect pricing, brilliant camera, seamless operation and powerful battery has lived up to the expectations of an Android user. Though Motorola came up with further launches, yet there are many who hold back to Moto G2 simply because of its awesome features.




2. Moto G4: After the successful launch of Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) smartphone, the company went on to launch Moto G4 in 2016. Priced moderately at Rs. 9,999, Moto G4 was a value for money device that did well and is doing well in the market even today. 5.5-inch touchscreen display, 3000mAh non removable battery, 13MP and 5MP rear camera of Moto G4 are some of its crowd pulling features.

3. Moto G5: This is a latest introduction in Motorola's G series smartphones. It has been launched this year in India at Rs. 11,999. This is a smaller and less costly smartphone from the Moto G series, which has kept almost all required features in place. 3GB RAM+16GB of inbuilt storage, 5inch full HD IPS LCD screen, metal body are some prominent features that made it a worth buy at the given price tag.

4. Moto G5 Plus: This higher version of Moto G5 is known for its user-friendly characteristic. Its classic all-metal body is one of the most striking features. Other features like 5.2-inch full-HD display, rapid charging, fingerprint reader, and 12MP rear camera are equally enticing for a smartphone lover.

5. Moto Z2 Play: Motorola launched Moto Z2 Play, a high-end smartphone in lunar gray and fine gold colours for Rs 27,999 in India. Moto Z2 Play is coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. Not only these, ity also has a 12MP rear camera, a powerful 3,000mAh battery, and 5.5 Full-HD Super-AMOLED display along with a fingerprint sensor.

6. Moto C Plus: By targeting the budget consumer category, Motorola launched Moto C Plus in India at Rs 6,999. This is a latest entry in its 'C' series smartphone. It sports 5-inch IPS HD display, 2GB RAM, and 8MP rear camera and 2MP selfie camera, to name a few. Interestingly, the device is powered by a 4,000mAh replaceable battery.

7. Moto M: Though launched in December 2016, many are still seen buying Moto M. This is because, Moto M is said to be a new mid-range smartphone that takes a leap from Moto X and Moto Z smartphones. Its 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture is the biggest attraction. The phone is also water and dust resistant.
