While Shamita Shetty and Uday Chopra have finally bid adieu to tinsel town, we round up the B-town wannabes we believe would do themselves good if they followed suit
Esha Deol
What do you say to an actress whose mother looks like her younger sister! After being kept off the big screen for a few years, the girl with the limited range of emotions is relying on home production, Tell Me Oh Khuda, to make an impact. Newcomers who complain about not being born into a star family, take a leaf out of Esha's book! Star genes don't guarantee success. Even wiggling into a hot bikini, sadly, couldn't salvage her flagging career!

Bharatanatyam dancer
Ameesha Patel
If we had to name the Bollywood debutantes lucky enough to get their dream launch pad, Ms Patel would figure in the top three. Of course she was overshadowed by Jumping-Jack Roshan, but she could have still carved a niche for herself as Tween Dream Queen. Sadly, the giggle-girl was reduced to watching her dirty (read: family) laundry being aired in public. We hope this gold medalist in Economics had made better use of her degree. Sigh!

Financial advisor
Subhash Ghai
Pop quiz. Have you heard of Love Express? How about Cycle Kick? You're not alone. Neither had three out of the five people we asked. Why are we asking you this? Because Subhash 'the Showman' Ghai produced all those films. Disasters including Kisna, Yuvraaj and Black & White, which he directed, didn't help his cause either.

Student counsellor at Whistling Woods International
Dev Anand
Of course we envy his zest for life, but this yester-century actor should have retired, at least two decades ago. Guess he enjoyed his 'evergreen' status a tad too much.
The 88-year-old's films, foppish image, and mannerisms are sadly well past their expiry date. His 'young' discoveries don't seem to go anywhere (remember Heenee Kaushik from a movie called Love at Times Square? No? We don't blame you). Do we really need a Hare Rama Hare Krishna remake after Shaitan! We'll pass, thanks!
Alternative career
Entertainer at kiddie parties
Mimoh and Adhyayan Suman
We are putting these two in the same category only because we have a tendency to club them together. They had their debut releases around the same time - in 2008 - and both bombed miserably at the box office. To be fair, Adhyayan still have a shade of talent, but Mimoh should call it quits before it's too late. Do yourselves a favour, boys.
