We look at what auto giants Ford, Maruti and Tata have to offer...
Ford Figo Concept
The Ford Figo Concept compact sedan, showcased at the Auto Expo, will spawn a similar looking production sibling for the Indian market.
The new sedan features a grille resembling the exotic Aston Martin cars. Ford claims to have broken new ground with packaging and space optimisation and its features list is expected to be long too. We love the way it looks, and if priced right, it may just replicate the success story of the Ecosport.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is a replacement for the ageing SX4 sedan. But the Ciaz, being a bigger, sexier looking and more feature-laden car will retail at a higher price point than the SX4.
Powering the Ciaz will be the 1.3 DDiS diesel engine with extensive measures taken to reduced NVH levels to a bare minimum. Launch expected by end of 2014.
Tata Zest
Tata Zest sedan, along with the Bolt hatchback, will represent the company's advanced automotive technology.
The car's talking point is the recently unveiled 1.2 litre turbocharged Revotron engine, which delivers 85PS of power and 140 Nm of impressive torque. With a fresh new design and better interiors, the Zest will try to help Tata Motors win back lost ground.
