Cab aggregator Uber plans to conquer the skies with flying cars!

After the first customer trial of self-driving car services or autonomous taxis in Singapore in August, Uber, now plans to enter the realm of air transportation with flying cars.

Termed at Uber Elevate, the firm envisions journeys being made by a "network of small, electric aircraft that take off and land vertically by using three-dimensional airspace to alleviate transportation congestion on the ground."

Uber has taken the idea of creating flying vehicles seriously enough to publish a white paper outlining the plans. The firm estimates the technology for these vehicles will mature within five years.
