Both bikes to get the same 999cc head which receives a 10ps hike and takes the maximum power output to 150ps
The 2017 models of the Suzuki GSX-S1000 and the Suzuki GSX-S1000F have been unveiled by Suzuki and the new models receive significant changes for the European market. The motorcycles are powered by the same 999cc engine which now develops 150PS of maximum power, 10 PS more than its predecessor, and 108Nm of peak torque at 9,500rpm, 2Nm more than the previous one. New crankcase ventilation holes have resulted in the increased power figures, as quoted by Suzuki, and the engine is now Euro 4 compliant.
Both the bikes now get slipper clutch which aids smoother downshifts. Apart from the mechanical changes, the motorcycles now get blacked-out clutch and front brake hand-operated levers and gear and rear brake foot operated levers. The GSX-S1000F now gets a smoked black-tinted fairing. The GSX-S1000 will be available in blue-black and red-black colour options, whereas the S1000F gets an additional all-white colour option. The GSX-S1000 is also available in 'Phantom' special edition which gets a matte black colour scheme and blacked-out exhausts and front forks for the international markets.
The 2016 models of both the bikes are currently on sale in India and it can be expected that Suzuki will get the 2017 models to the Indian market soon. The GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F are priced at Rs 13,84,000 and Rs 14,35,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. Once launched, the 2017 models might see some price hike due to the new updates.
