The legendary act is back in town. Over the last two decades, Indian Ocean has attracted a huge fan following for its original music that ranges from rocking political anthems to meditative spiritual ballads. And this weekend it is Bangalore's chance to get lucky. So get ready to sing along with this band that urges you to think too.With folk songs fused with rhythms of rock, Indian Ocean will be performing live to set you humming to tracks like Kandisa and Bandeh all over again. Get ready to have leopards, tigers, sloth bears and the wild dog stare back at you this Saturday. The magazine Furs, Fins and Feathers will be celebrating its first anniversary with a wildlife photography exhibition.

Photgraphers like Amit Sharma, Darshan M, Giri Cavale, MN Jayakumar, Shivang, Kahini Ghosh Mehta, Vinay and Priya Kumar will be showcasing their works at this exhibition. The proceeds from the sale of these photographs will go towards the adoption of a wild animal at the Banerghatta Biological Park. Through these photographs you will get to see wildlife in their natural habitat.

Pradeep Chakravarthy and Vikram Sathyanathan will be launching the book Thanjavur - A Cultural Story. Through words and images, the authors will delve into the cultural history of this temple town. The book begins from the days of the Chola empire and traces the story of how Raja Raja I built the Rajarajeswaram temple, which isu00a0 now known as the Brihadeeswara temple. Interesting facts and figures in the book bring out the rich, interesting and lesser known history of this temple town. In Thanjavur - A Cultural Story, tales of various dynasties like Cholas, Nayaks, Marathas and British are also woven together.

This Sunday is going to be a treat for all theatre lovers out there. On World Theatre Day, you will get to see three plays back to back. The Kannada plays include Dharmasthamba, Hosabelaku and a Japanese peace ballet called Shiroi Hana or White Flowers will be staged to mark the day.

The day will begin with the Antharanga Theatre Group taking an oath. B V Rajaram, President of Karnataka Nataka Academy and Narendrababu, secretary of Roopanthara will preside over this session. Dharmasthamba brings out the conflict between politics and human values while Hosabelaku is a stage adaptation of the famous Kannada actor Dr Rajkumar's film by the same name. On the other hand, the Japanese play is dedicated to the Tsunami victims of Japan. So for all those of you who want to spend a day watching plays here is an initiative you just cannot miss.
