The Last Day of June has you playing Carl, a lonely man, who has recently lost his wife, June, in a tragic accident. As it is with most games, there is a way to bring her back - by modifying events of the past. This is possible when Carl discovers that he can relive that day through her paintings.
Each painting is a portrait of a character that is somewhat tied into the accident that killed June. Just modifying the events causes a lot of unwanted actions, none of which seem to bring his wife back. Carl has to deliberately keep reliving these scenes, in which he changes the outcome. This is till you discover the right mix to bring back June.
The game has an interesting art style that's part Van Gogh and part Tim Burton. Despite the eyeless characters, it still give us the heebie-jeebies.
The only shortcoming is that the story plays forces you to relive the cutscenes in its entirety each and every time, which one might find annoying. Overall, the game looks beautiful and you can't help, but fall in love with the characters. And, the consequences of your actions are interesting as they play out in front of you. This one is definitely a game you must get if you have a PC or PS4.
