Students from Shiamak Davar's special potential batch will present a dancing extravaganza that will include Hip-Hop and Afro Jazz
Confi-dance is a dancing extravaganza where various dance forms will share the stage. The show is being presented by Shiamak's Special Potential Batch (SPB) of students hand-picked by Shiamak Davar. Talking about the aim of this exercise, Shiamak said, "It will give the students confidence through dance. They learn various dance forms as a part of their training, including Hip-Hop, Theatre Jazz, Afro Jazz and Shiamak's style and this show is a display of all that they have learnt in their training period."
He added that the students have worked hard for this show and have learned to work in a team, create props, sets and even design costumes.u00a0 "They have learnt all aspects of a performing arts experience," he stated.
The show will be a journey into the world of dance, from a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi to the animated world of Rio. "Dance speaks a universal language. It is a creative form of expression and has the ability to touch the soul. Whether it is a social message, an expression of joy, a tribute to a legend or a journey into the world of animation, dance portrays all," explained Shiamak.u00a0
He admits that the event will teach students that success in not instant; one has to persevere and keep growing as a dancer. "Be humble and keep working hard. Dance involves keeping your mind, body and soul in balance. With tremendous competition and so much talent, they have to keep improving constantly. And if one is true to their art and genuinely works hard, success won't be far away," he concludes.
