Gadget review: AXL's latest portable power bank, the LPB110

With a robust body, attractive design and most importantly, a powerful battery under the hood, AXL World's powerbank, the LPB110 comes across as an attractive option for those on the go.

After giving it a trial run, we have to admit that we took a liking to it. With a strong fire-resistant body featuring a 10,000 mAh lithium-polymer battery, the LPB110 not only looks monstrous, but also weighs heavy at 235g. What this also means is that you don't have to worry much about the powerbank once it's in your bag. However, expect its colour to fade away slowly. Though priced slightly on the expensive side, for Rs 2,999, it comes across as a good buy, simply for the fact that it displays its current capacity in percentage between 1 to 100%. Though we would have preferred a digitised display, we are happy to see an LED indicator as compared to none in other chargers.

During our review, the powerbank gave us nearly 2.5 time recharges in a smartphone with a battery capacity of up to 2,300mah. This gives it a charging capacity of nearly 55%-65%, which is not bad. For those with around 3,000 mAh battery in their smartphones, expect it to give you two full charges.

The powerbank comes with two output ports - 1A and 2A - and supports quick charging. The only problem, though, is that recharging the powerbank itself takes more than 12 hours, and that can be a bummer. The good news is that the battery in the LPB110 comes with 1,000 recharge cycles, which is plenty to keep you going for the next few years.

Note: The device comes with a one-year warranty, and while we didn't face any problems with the hardware, we found several users complaining about the product's build quality and poor customer support across e-commerce portals. Readers are advised to buy at their own discretion.
