No more sleepless nights. Here's how you can get your child admitted to the school of your choice
Is the cold, chaos at schools, lack of knowledge about prospectus, forms and criteria making you lag behind in the race of seeking admission for your child? If yes, here are some tips that you can keep in mind to enable you to deal with things better and not miss the bus.
Don't wait for the last day
As compared to previous years where you had a full month for admissions, this year the process of filling the forms has to be completed by January 15. And in between you have holidays like Sundays and Guru Gobind Singh's birthday. So, the number of working days is even less. The golden advice is not to wait till the last day for submission of forms. Better face the cold now and get moving without losing whatever little time is left as getting your kid admitted in the school of your choice is a priority.
Get the focus right
It is a state of confusion and 500 different criteria for 500 different schools are already there to make matters worse. But there is way to deal with that. Running around the city from one school to another won't work. Jot down the names of the schools that you wish your child to be admitted to, keeping in mind those falling near your place. This can solve two issues-one, you would not have to waste time going to schools located farthest in order to secure a seat and ending up nowhere. Second, since majority of schools have the maximum number of points for neighbourhood, it is only wiser to apply there and secure the optimum number of points. Just focus right and your seat is guaranteed. No point in wasting time, make the most of what is available.
Act fast
Once you have the forms of various schools with you, just don't sit on them. Most parents have done this and now say they won't repeat the mistake. Just fill them up quickly and submit them at the respective schools as early as possible. Also, be careful with the details and spend enough time on each form to ensure that nothing is missed out. Complete forms minimise chances of rejection. Of course, it is still better to lose on points rather than on an insignificant mistake in the application form. Once done, you can really sit back and chill out.
Online option
This is worth your attention. There are still only a few schools who have made forms available online. Applying online can be both easy as well as risky. Most parents are not comfortable applying online and do not find it a reliable method. But it can be a good option for saving both time and resources. One thing you will have to keep in mind is to mention correct registration PIN that you get from school on the form. If incorrect, the application would be rejected. Also, make sure you don't apply twice for the same school online as the form would be rejected for duplication.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0
Keep documents handy
Keep handy whatever documents need to be attached with every application form. If you end up falling short of any of these, it would be falling out of the loop again.u00a0
