London: Social networking giant Facebook has introduced a filter to prevent reminding you inadvertently of a photo or friendship you would rather forget.
Now, the social network will allow you to specify the individuals or dates you do not want it to remind you of through its 'On This Day' feature, reports stated.
Introduced in March, 'On This Day' acts as a timehop-style reminder of certain photos, statuses, events and interactions from this day in your past Facebook history.
Those who can access the feature can now filter out what they do not want to see under Preferences by entering the name of a person or a specific date.
Facebook has made a number of recent adjustments to better suit its users' emotional states. It recently confirmed its new Reactions feature, which offers the option to express love, laughter, happiness, shock, sadness and anger via a series of smiley and not-so-smiley faces.
It has also made inroads in how to deal more sensitively with the profiles of and manage interactions with those who have died.
Earlier this year, it rolled out Legacy Contacts, allowing users to appoint an 'online executor' of their profile to decide what happens to it after they die.
The legacy contact will be able to administer the page after the user passes away by writing one last post, updating their cover and profile photo and even approving new friend requests.
