Quirky accessories, apparel and stylish kitsch will tempt you at Aarna, a two-day shopping extravaganza with displays by established and first-time designers
Entrepreneurs Kunjan Budhiraja and Kainaz Mehta were busy with last-minute preparations before the two-day shopping extravaganza Aarna began. They've brought together an ensemble of established and first-time designers who will showcase their best works over two floors at Joss, Kala Ghoda. This summer edition of a bi-annual exhibition features 40 designers with products ranging from apparel and accessories to home d ufffdcor and kidswear. The idea behind this two-day festival is to provide a platform to young and talented designers. Aarna also supports Aseema, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged children through education.

Keeping in mind the season, most of the apparel sport a colourful vibe. Brands on display include Periwinkle jewellery, Agastya (accessories), Aseema, Taxxi and Vitamin K, The Big Bag Theory, Neha Sahay and Papa Don't Preach. Prices for accessories begin from Rs 800 while you can pick up apparel from Rs 1,000 onwards. Haasya Chandna who is showcasing her Kazamiir line gives us a sneak peek into her collectionu00a0-- "My line is made up of evening wear and is for the bold woman."
Aarna has a section called the 'Budding Corner', where first-time designer collections go on sale. Amiksha Modi and Garvita Bhatia feature here, with their line of dresses, Coral. "Like coral, our clothes are also all colourful and fun. We have also worked with different prints, adds Amiksha. What we also loved was the range of ballerinas by Bash, a Delhi-based shoe brand by Jyothsna Swarup. And if you're tired with the shopping, nibble on yummy cupcakes by Icing On Top. You can also avail of complimentary services including makeup, blow dry and massages.
