When oil glands in the skin are unable to produce excess oil to moisturize, it results in roughness and dryness. A dry and flaky skin leads to several skin related disorders like skin peeling, wrinkles, fine lines and itching.

Several ingredients can help you get rid of dry skin naturally at home. One such readily available ingredient is coconut oil. Loaded with healthy fats, coconut oil helps moisturise the skin, forms a protective layer on the surface, and prevents dryness. Vitamin E in coconut oil also helps to repair dry skin.

Here's how you can use coconut oil to treat dry skin:
1. Wash your face, dry it lightly
2. Take ¼ teaspoon of coconut oil on one palm and rub it with the other palm
3. Apply the oil on your face with both the palms.
4. Massage gently and let it settle for 5-10 minutes
5. Once the oil is absorbed into the skin, wipe off the excess oil with a towel or cotton ball.
