Delicate yet strong-looking earrings that said âLove Respect and Protect' and the Kirpan neckpiece and earrings: Ahluwalia's stand against domestic violence was a sensitive way to spread the word through fashion. So, when the press kit for her latest collection arrived in a box shaped like an old book, we were excited to learn more about her latest concept.u00a0
With old postcards, dried peepul leaf and the book, The Little Prince inside the book box, Ahluwalia explained the story behind her new line, titled Old Fashioned. The jewellery line is an ode to all the nice things and people we miss today in our fast-paced life.
The result: raindrop earrings and cuffs; with paper boats on the ends, hands of an old clock inspiring bracelets and earrings, and qualities such as kindness and compassions shown through gesturing hands-shaped jewellery. It's already caught the eye of fashionista Sonam Kapoor, who wore it on her recent visit to our office. Ahluwalia will soon be launching an online store too.
