Those with fine, limp hair should use a product that volumises. Use a volumising leave-in conditioner. For those with normal to dry hair, moisturising shampoos are a must. The conditioner should be water-based so that the hair doesn't get greasy. If you have greasy scalp and dry hair, use a shampoo that regulates oil secretion and a conditioner for dry hair.

Go for oil (scalp) massages regularly
Oil massages reduce frizz for thick hair; increase blood circulation and aid growth for those with thin hair. If you have normal hair, do this once a week. Those with a greasy scalp should avoid hair massages and opt for a hair spa treatment instead.

Get your hair trimmed regularly
Regular trims and haircuts leave hair free from split ends. If you have short hair, you need to go for a trim once every six weeks to maintain the shape. Those with long hair need to get a trim every 12 to 15 weeks.

Invest in a quality leave-in conditioner or serum
Thick, coarse hair needs a cream-based leave-in conditioner that controls frizz. Apply on damp hair after regular conditioning. If you have fine, limp hair, use a volumising leave-in conditioner that is water-based, which makes hair look thicker. It can also be applied directly on the scalp for a root lift. If you have normal hair, opt for hair serums that add sheen and shine. For those with greasy scalps, apply a leave-in conditioner only on the bottom half of the hair and ends for frizz control.
