Piaggio has released pictures of its upcoming scooter and announced that it will be an all-electric offering from the Italian manufacturer
2016 EICMA: Vespa Elettrica Electric scooter unveiled
Introducing the Vespa Elettrica project, Piaggio unveiled the mobility of the future at the 2016 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The most recognisable scooter brand in the world has unveiled its first electric scooter in pictures, which will be rolled out in the latter half of 2017.
The company hasn't revealed any information of the Vespa Elettrica, apart from the fact that it will be an all-electric vehicle. So, we don't have much to say about the upcoming scooter except its outstanding design and styling. Like all the gasoline-powered products of the company, the Elettrica also gets a monocoque frame. However, this one has a stark metal body with a smooth finish. The satin finish cast wheels of the scooter enhance the premium feel and the electric blue accents further add to its gorgeous looks.
Piaggio says that the Electric Vespa will, first and foremost, be a true Vespa, bringing the very latest in electric technology to a vehicle that will retain all the features that have been vital to its success. The style, agility, ease of use and riding pleasure will be the same as the Vespa we have always known, with the addition of technological and innovative connectivity solutions. A perfect mix of excitement, technology and environmental friendliness that only Vespa can create, as it has always done in its first seventy years of history.
The Vespa Elettrica project confirms the Piaggio Group's commitment, not only to people mobility but also to a desire to change the way in which people commute. This is all we have for now and the company will be sharing more details on it later in the week.
