Head to a weekend yoga session where you can bond with your canine friends and get healthy together

"You can't make a dog do the downward dog!" laughs yoga instructor Samanta Duggal when we tell her people were assuming her upcoming event was yoga for dogs. "It's yoga with dogs," she clarifies, suggesting that the wording on the event page may have been misleading.

The event, titled Cat Curls for Dogs, requires you to come in for a session of yoga with your pooch, and will be held at Doolally Taproom in Kemps Corner on Sunday. It will be led by Duggal, who has been practising and teaching yoga for over 15 years.

"In the years I've been teaching, I've seen how pets behave when their owners practise yoga. They react intuitively. I've designed this session keeping that in mind. So, you will be interacting with your pet, massaging and petting them as you do your asanas," she explains.

This will be followed up with a session on pet care and nutrition. Jeru Jeejeebhoy of Oliver Pet Care, who will be a part of it, says, "This is an event to help you and your pet stay healthy, which is difficult in space-starved Mumbai. We will also have The Baker's Dozen talking about nutrition for your dog, and The Bark Club sharing tips to keep them fit." She adds that the session tackles various aspects of the health of your pet and you.

"This is the first time I'm conducting such an event. It's going to be a riot," smiles Duggal.
