Mango curd rice to raw mango carpaccio: Make these unique savoury dishes with the seasonal fruit this summer

There are many dishes that can be made with mangoes that are not only sweet but also savoury. While a raw mango salad is a classic, there are delicious variations that can be experimented with. However, chefs says one can even mango a mango curd rice or a raw mango carpaccio to enjoy the summer fruit to the fullest this season

Making a raw mango salad is the best way to enjoy the summer fruit. Made at Thai Naam by Ananda, chef Harish Singh, says one can simply toss together green unripe mango strips, jaggery powder, spring onions, water chestnuts with some lemon, soya sauce, salt and sugar. Photo Courtesy: Thai Naam

A unique take on the classic curd rice, chef Ashish Multani, founder at The Ghost Chef, says adding mango to it gives it a unique flavour. If you love Goan food, then try making the Goan fish curry with raw mango, says chef Alex Dias of Novotel Goa. Use local Mussori chillies, scraped coconut, ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, haldi powder, green chillies, sliced onions, kingfish, raw mango to make the dish in oil and add salt to it. Add more flavour to a classsic raw mango salad with moringa leaves, says chef Haresh at Woods At Sasan, to make the Raw Mango Moringa salad. They are perfect with julienned raw mango, French beans, fresh tomatoes, toasted and crushed peanuts, and fresh Brahmi; dress it with garlic, lime juice, fresh red Bhavnagiri chillies, organic jaggery and rock salt. Don't only think Indian because Italian dishes can also be made with mangoes, according to chef Umesh Pawar at Seesaw in Bandra Kurla Complex.
