IN PHOTOS: 8 cheap and innovative versions of Maggi noodles to enjoy in Mumbai

A Delhi street vendor recently went viral for creating a mutton curry-inspired version of Maggi noodles for a whopping Rs 400. Here’s our curation of oddball, quirky versions of this streetside favourite that are wallet-friendly too

Kulhad fire cheese Maggi is served at a tiny stall in Kalyan called Maggi Wala. The stall presents the version for Rs 120 in a kulhad, which is topped with shredded cheese that is cooked under a flame to give the dish a smoky flavour.

Vinay Sandwiches, Maggi and Pasta in Malad's Mindspace serves a Schezwan cheese Maggi for Rs 60. The shop which is open from 12 pm - 10:30 pm, serves a version that includes a spicy home-made schezwan sauce, adds masala and some cheese to balance the flavour. At WTC Manoj Pasta in Cuffe Parade, one can find the fusion Corn Pasta Maggi, which is loved by college goers around the city. It is available for Rs 170 between 5 pm to 12:30 am. Elsewhere, Hungry Head in Powai serves a Maggi Sizzler loaded with sauces and fries, one serving is enough to fill your tummy. It is available from 11 am to 11 pm at Rs 500. If one plate of maggi wasn't enough, then Cheesy Adda in Matunga West serves an entire Maggi Thali with crispy Maggi, Italiano Maggi, classic Maggi, cheese Maggi, hara bhara Maggi and Maggi soup. While the Delhi street vendor made a mutton curry-version of Maggi, if you love samosa and Maggi, this delicious fusion served at Kill No Kalorie in Thane West, in a cheesy and spicy mix makes for a hearty meal. It is available between 12:30 pm - 10 pm for Rs 140. 

While the Delhi vendor adds mutton curry to it, Friska in Dadar West adds harissa. It is a tribute to the humble Maggi is prepared with Tunisian red chilli sauce that seems to be a hit according to local fans. It is available for Rs 100 between 11 am to 10 pm. 

The Maggi vada pav is an inspired spin that salutes two streetside favourites. With classic masala Maggi filling, this vada pav is available at Laxman’s Om Vada Pav between 9 am and 9:30 pm for Rs 30 and should be on your must-try list. Photo Courtesy: Gourmet Musafir
