`Milan` unveiled at day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week
The Lakme Fashion Week got drenched in a techno-chic vibe on Day 2. KaSha, the artist-first fashion cult, presents outfits draped in radical symmetry via their collection - âMilan.' Known for their eclectic designs, KaSha presents a unique approach to fashion that draws inspiration from life's everyday, banal dynamics.
At this edition of LFW, they've chosen to trace the delicate balance between intimacy and individuality. Using rhythmic, repetitive patterns they encapsulate Kahlil Gibran's profound wisdom from 'On Marriage.'
âYou were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a bond of love;
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Sing and dance together and be joyous,
but let each one of you be alone,

Even as the strings of a lute are alone, though they quiver with the same music.
And stand together yet not too near together;
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.'
The hand-embroidered fabric restates the rules of harmonious dichotomy. KaSha takes a deep dive into the essence of relationships, emphasising the idea that while two souls may be linked forever, there should always be room for individual growth and self-discovery. The concurrent lines, placed at equidistance, breathe the same shades and fall of the fabric - striking a delicate balance - being close yet not too close, sharing love but not binding it and standing together while preserving individuality.
The fashion range is a celebration of love, union and the pragmatism of personal space. The collection borrows its genesis from the world around us - where elements come together in stablising synergy without sacrificing individual characteristics. Much like the flowing roots of trees, densely intertwined yet each finding its unique path, this collection imitates nature.

Patterned drooping leaves, consistent aqua waves and high-tempo triangles come together to weave the running motif of the designs.
The rhythmic geometry found in neo-man-made structures inspires KaSha to create hypnotic patterns. These patterns find their way into the appliqués, hand-embroideries and silhouettes of ensembles that models walked the ramp to. Just like the recurring layout of postmodernist buildings, their designs emulate the beauty of order and structure within an ecosystem.
As the 'Milan' collection takes shape, it becomes apparent that KaSha is not merely designing clothes but crafting an ode to the interplay of intangible elements in our lives. The fashion pieces reaffirm our faith in the delicate balance between two soulmates who are in pursuit to create something greater than the sum of their parts.
The motifs of interconnectedness, rhythm and balance are woven into the fabric of this avant-garde style. They create a visual narrative that evokes serene dynamism. The collection's palette from earthy browns to aqua water and silver sky to grassy greens, takes us back to the fond memories of swinging in the gardens of an old heritage bungalow.
