Lakmé, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Reliance Brands (RBL) announce the return of the official fashion week of the country to New Delhi. The upcoming edition is set to take place from October 11-15 at Pragati Maidan. The event will open with a grand show on October 10 at an offsite location which will see the coming of an iconic Indian designer and his interpretation from Lakmé's Glitterati collection, and will be presented by Lakmé, FDCI and RBL. The prestigious platform is gearing up to bring to the fore a spectacular line-up of designers, including new, emerging and established talent and present the latest beauty trends in the country.
This season, once again, Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI will bring a tactile representation of the brand's inspired festive spirit on the runway in New Delhi. Inspired by the brand's new collection, the theme - âGlitterati', is equal parts reminder and an invitation to let a touch of sparkle do the talking this Winter-Festive season. In a first, the upcoming edition will see Lakmé unveil a series of makeup and skin trends. The two Lakmé showcases for the season will be the Lakmé Glitterati show on October 10 and the event will culminate with the House of Lakmé Grand Finale on October 15, marking the homecoming of an Indian designer, whose work over the years has transcended cultural and geographical boundaries. The designers will be announced subsequently.
The Fashion Design Council of India is the apex body of fashion design in India, represented by over 400 members. Founded on the premise of promoting, nurturing, and representing the best of fashion and design talent in the country; its prime objective is to propagate the business of fashion. FDCI stays true to its commitment to promote the âMake in India' label as handlooms take centre stage, in a country, whose heritage is soaked in the flavours of indigenous crafts. The FDCI Showroom will attract buyers from across the globe helping design talent to explore business avenues and opportunities. The last day of the event will also host the FDCI Stockroom providing the event a direct consumer connection as they get to purchase off-the-ramp collections and interface with designers. In continuation with its resolve to spotlight the best in Indian Fashion, the FDCI Showcase designer for the season is Pero. A special curation by the FDCI âFashion Wears Art' will also feature top Indian Artists teaming up with leading fashion designers for an experiential showcase which will be announced shortly.
All showcases will continue to be live-streamed across the platform's OTT partners Jio Cinema and Jio TV and Lakmé, LFW and FDCI social media channels to reach the widespread Indian and global fashion audience.
