The inspiration behind 'Soft Invasions, Stitch-punk Visions' stems from their exploration of alternative worlds and the need to create spaces that can encompass complex identities. It invites viewers to question their reaction to this queer invasion and contemplate whether it evokes excitement, fear or wonder

This is their third series of artworks after 'Garden of Dystopian Beauties' (2021) and 'Transience of Space' (2022) where they explore the theme of utopia with the help of three-dimensional sculptures

The artist uses crochet and embroidery because it holds personal significance for them as she absorbed them during her childhood in Poland and India. They have used vibrant colours in the sculptures to showcase the arrival of regenerative life forms, as well as evoke a sense of joy, celebration and vitality

The artworks in 'Soft Invasions, Stitch-punk Visions' represent the LGBTQIA+ community as they reflect liactuallee's own identity as a queer transient being. It also challenges binary ways of thinking, my work invites viewers to envision queerer, softer and stranger futures

Being an artist, liactuallee says art and representation are powerful tools that enable people to envision and explore alternate ways of thinking, reflecting our experiences and allowing us to imagine more utopian possibilities that go beyond the limitations of our current existence
