Jaipur Literature Festival 2023 comes to a close with history, culture and poetry

Five days of the Jaipur Literature Festival 2023 come to an end with some early morning music but not without some thought-provoking subjects that saw the likes of Chigozie Obioma, Saurabh Kirpal and Gaur Gopal Das take the stage. The 16th edition ended with some poetry and an interesting debate

Nigerian author Chigozie Obioma, who has also been shortlisted for the Booker Prize two times, was in conversation with Manasi Subramaniam for the session, ‘The Road To The Country: In The Words of Chigozie Obioma. He dived into the intricacies of Nigerian cultue in context of his books, ‘The Fishermen’ and ‘An Orchestra of Minorities’ and his essay, ‘Pride and Punishment. Elsewhere on the last day of the festival, Indian monk and motivational speaker Gaur Gopal Das was in conversation with Puneeta Roy in the session ‘First Edition: Energize Your Mind’. Senior advocate and author Saurabh Kirpal dwelled on the different aspects of the Indian judiciary in his session, ‘Fifteen Judgments: Cases that Shaped India's Financial Landscape’ with Tripurdaman Singh. The last Poetry Hour of the Jaipur Literature Festival 2023 saw a mesmerising reading session of poetry by Ko Ko Thett, Anshu Harsh and Suman Keshari moderated by Sudeep Sen.
