International Nurses Day and World Cocktail Day were observed during the second week of May. Our coverage delved into gendered nature of nursing, as male nurses shared their experiences and spoke of the inherent bias surrounding their jobs. On World Cocktail Day, mixologists highlighted the influence of popular culture on how we drink, and shared recipes of iconic on-screen cocktails from James Bond's Martini to Carrie Bradshaw's Cosmopolitan. To combat the ongoing heat wave, city chefs also shared cooling recipes using curd and buttermilk as key ingredients.

Fashion has always been cyclic, and Y2K (fashion from the 2000's) has made a raging comeback. Experts comment on the return of the turn of the millennium style and share tips on how to make your look more Y2K. This week, Grammy-winning music composer Ricky Kej also sat down for an exclusive chat with Mid-day Online and shared his love for childhood idol Stewart Copeland.

Ahead of International Museum Day, our story charted the evolution of iconic museums in Mumbai. The teams running behind these legacy institutions shared current initiatives to increase accessibility, and future plans to capture wider audiences. We also got to the bottom of how Asiatic Library's first-ever fortnightly book sale end in four hours by speaking with Dr Shehernaz Nalwalla, vice president at The Asiatic Society of Mumbai. In our weekly series, ‘Shelf Life with Mid-Day', we cover book shops, reading centres, circulating libraries and spaces that have been preserving the reading culture of Mumbai. For the seventh part, we spoke with five diverse book clubs through the city who have been creatively engaging their members.
