"The cottagecore design style portrays the exquisite beauty of nature and celebrates the simplicity of rustic living. Laced with a yearning for a bygone era of tranquillity, it incorporates the use of ordinary materials, muted hues, and handcrafted treasures," says Ekant Singh, founder and CEO of Page2813, when asked about the design trend.

He explains, "The interiors are adorned with the raw elegance of wood, the rugged allure of stone, and the intricate textures of woven fabrics like linen and cotton. This amalgamation of natural elements results in a welcoming and snug ambience. The furniture in this decor is mostly vintage and antique with preference given to comfort and functionality."

The trending design style
The cottagecore design style, owing to its romantic and grounded aesthetics, has gained immense popularity. According to Singh, its focus on natural materials, colours, and vintage or handmade items creates a cosy and inviting atmosphere that attracts many people.

"One of the most important reasons behind its admiration is the ability to evoke a sense of nostalgia for a time and a desire to reconnect with idealised rural life. In a world that is often fast-paced and stressful, this style offers a retreat that is peaceful where one can appreciate the beauty and the simple pleasures of life," shares the expert.

Another reason for its acceptance is its ability to create a sense of amenity in the surrounding. Singh elaborates, "The cottagecore design style is centred around farmhouse ideas, which represents a simpler way of standard living. It provides an aura of grounding and connection to the earth and is also a kind of environmentally conscious existence due to its emphasis on traditional and rural lifestyles."

Key characteristics
According to Singh, this design trend encourages people to create spaces that reflect their unique personalities, and interests. When asked about the key elements of cottagecore, he shares, "The cottagecore style is characterised by several key features like simplicity, self-reliance, and personal freedom. With a focus on the minimalism concept, an approach to design is portrayed by the use of trending handcrafted or vintage items, and an understated colour palette."

Five ways to make your home Insta-worthy
The cottagecore architecture movement, which draws inspiration from nature, goes beyond ordinary fashion. "It is the art of an architect to make you live with a dream design.

This is demonstrated by the development of an aspirational version of nostalgia that is embellished with a deft fusion of modern luxury and rustic attributes," shares Singh. He believes snug nooks outfitted with plush, soft couches, and materials give off the impression of a new design theme that can be obtained in a cottage-style home.

Below, the design expert lists five ways to help you adapt your home to cottagecore design:

Designed palettes
Explore some of the designed palettes, such as stone, aqua, and purple, if you want to add aesthetic vibes to your space. These hues work well with old styles and contribute to the creation of a soothing ambience.

Layer fabrics
Layering vintage-inspired fabrics in a variety of designs is one method to ensure cottagecore appeal. More ruffles and trims give a better look.

Country kitchen
Consider including essential items like a sink and an overhead clothes dryer to create a kitchen filled with country charm. We believe that traditional enamel sinks, which are prevalent in all kitchens, are superior to modern stainless steel. They exist in many sizes and shapes to accommodate any space and are still widely used today. Also, the farmhouse kitchen table should be a fixture in every traditional cottage; it's where family meals are prepared, schoolwork is finished, and original ideas are conceived. In the past, they would have been used for just cooking, sewing, and repairs.

Rustic yard
Why not extend the cottagecore theme outside by constructing your own shepherd's house or a rustic yard potting shed? These beautiful apartments, which were once used as lodging for shepherds watching over their flocks, might be the ideal place to become creative or simply escape and unwind with a nice look.

Earthy tones
While the "farmhouse look" is sometimes linked with a crisp white and black colour scheme with industrial details, the cottagecore design leans towards earthy and muted colours, providing a warm gaze. With these, you can design an area where you have the possibility to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
