In a country where discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, gender, and sexuality is commonplace, the onus of building safe, diverse, and inclusive spaces lies on all of us. While the first step is to acknowledge biases against minorities, it is critical that we build mechanisms and processes to ensure an equitable workplace where all employees can function freely.
Dare To Wear Your Pink Boots is a thoughtfully curated workshop that aims to overcome these arbitrary divisions and to build a fully integrated workplace in absence of biases, and discrimination, with the objective that all-inclusive workplaces allow people to unlock their full potential.
Organised by Second Act, an organisation that delivers corporate workshops centred around wellness and Nazariya, a queer feminist resource group, the two-day workshop will host talks by prominent corporate leaders including Richa Singh- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Head at Max life Insurance and Aradhana Lal- VP Brands and Sustainability at Lemon Tree Hotels. "In today's world, in almost every corporate setting, we discuss diversity, equity, and inclusion extensively. However, do we make conscious changes to be truly inclusive and make everyone feel that they belong at your workplace?" asks Archana Dutta, CEO, Second Act.
Over the two days through multiple sessions and activities, participants will delve into several significant topics. The first day will commence with a circle of trust that will help bring up biases and blind spots followed by a session that talks about how organisations can adapt hiring processes to ensure diversity. The day will close with a session dedicated to LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the workplace wherein participants will also get a clear understanding of diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging. The second day will touch upon the impact of workplace culture on mental health focussing on stressors and benefits of being your authentic self, alongside establishing goals and accountability with KPI driven diversity, equity, and inclusion targets. Participants will also acquire the right tools and strategies to promote gender-led leadership roles and learn to include values of acceptance, awareness, empathy, and compassion.
