Plenty has been said about Man Ray since a showcase of his photographs opened at TARQ last month. An American visual artist, Ray was a prominent contributor to the Dada and Surrealist movements of the 20th century.

Now, you can sign your kids up for Enter the World of Man Ray, a workshop that aims to inspire budding photographers. It will be conducted by Anika Gupta Goenka, Madhumita Nandi Srivastava and Rachana Devidayal Shah of Flying Tricycle, who organise art and design workshops for both, kids and adults.

"Man Ray's works walked the line between real and dreamlike fantasy. He was also a contemporary of Picasso," says Srivastava, adding that the aim is to get kids to explore this art style. Children aged seven to 12 years can attend the workshop, for which they will have to bring along their cameras to capture objects at the venue, TARQ. "We'll shoot in black and white, and explore aspects such as light and dark, and the use of space within a frame. We'll also take prints of the images they've shot, and demonstrate collage techniques," adds Srivastava.
