Aeromodelling workshops can teach kids to make flying planes as well as understand the science behind it


Most kids love to dabble with aeroplanes - some by making paper planes using pages from their notebooks and books, while others make these from important bills and receipts that parents leave around the house. Now, how about helping your kids turn this curiosity towards planes into a life-long experience? This summer vacation, sign your kids up for a special aeromodelling class where they will not only learn to make flying planes but also understand the science behind it.

There are plenty of experiential learning institutes in the city, who have organised special aeromodelling camps and workshops during the summer vacation. From making static 3D models of planes to making flying planes out of the lightweight balsa wood, or the various shapes of kites, these workshops will definitely ignite the grey cells in your child's brain, and perhaps, set the path for a flying future. the guide has prepared a list of such aeromodelling workshops and camps children can take part in this summer:

Aeromodelling camp in Chembur
Supersonic Aero Modelers has organised two special summer camps which will teach kids how to make paper planes, static 3D models and flying planes from lightweight Balsa wood. The workshop will be conducted in two separate batches - from ages five to eight, and nine years and above.
From April 28 to May 2 and May 18 to 22, 3 pm onwards

Two-day workshop in Mulund
If five days are a bit long, you can enroll your kids for the aeromodelling workshop organised by Artshaala. Here, children will learn to make a special paper plane that is now part of the Limca Book of Records, along with flying Balsa wood models. The workshop will also teach them how to make the different types of kites found around the world.
From April 18 and 19 (register before April 15) and April 23 and 24 (registration ends on April 20)

Basic Aeromodelling in Lokhandwala
Quistic Learning Centre will be conducting three separate camps between April and May where kids can learn the basics of aeromodelling and understand the science behind it. The workshop will cover paper models, balsa wood models as well as static models, and is open to all kids above 6 years.
