Catch a gripping film about a London typographer with a stutter, a heartwarming Christmas movie, and an amusingly haunting film about the world of mirrors - all packed into less than 14 minutes each - this Friday. Handpicked from the vibrant short films scene from around the world, Stutterer (UK; 13 minutes) won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film this year, while The Mirror is a six-minute film by Mumbai-based filmmakers Shiva and Saptaraj.
The shorts have been put together by Shamiana - The Short Film Club in collaboration with Mac Productions. "Short films have come a long way in India. They are now engaging with a broad range of subjects," says Cyrus Dastur, founder, Shamiana. Apart from the screening, audience members will also have the opportunity to interact with the cast and crew of The Mirror.
