This November, Bandra will get a new festival called Bandra's Got Spice Festival 2015, which invites the whole city to be a part of fun sporting activities and other events

"We always wanted to do something interactive, and with so many members and the experience of organising events, we felt, we should get people from everywhere together and organise a fun-based event where people from all age groups can be a part of," says Bandra resident and co-founder of the group, Ashley Burroughs.
The group was started by Naomi Fernandes and Bridgette Peters along with Burroughs over two years ago, and has had several successful gatherings of the members earlier. The festival will take place during the Diwali vacations period, from November 7 to 15 and will have a host of participatory events with interesting names such as Vandre Vistas, Bandora's Box and What men-Why men.
"We didn't want it to be a performance based festival where people just come and watch. Hence we came up with a range of sports and activity contests with names that are catchy and how a lot of people from Bandra speak," says Burroughs.
The sports events, Football Fundas, Phekum-phek and Stumped!, will have special rules such as teams that have a 15-year-old and a 45-year-old and so on. Other fun events include Scary Spice (ghost story telling), Chota Oscar (one act short plays) and Amchi Uncle Aunty (best uncle aunty).
