While the game is making people take long walks, hang out at temples, parks and even head to dress-up parties, an event this weekend will combine the concept of a bar hop and a Pokémon Go walk. Organised by Latenight Mumbai, the PoGo Bar Crawl requires participants to travel to seven different venues along a marked route, in between Lower Parel, Worli and Breach Candy. "Four weeks ago, when the game went viral, we wanted to see what we can do to make it even more exciting for the age group of 21 to 30. That's how, we came up with the plan for the crawl," says 23-year-old Eshita Dharia, who has organised the event with 22-year-old partner Pawan Shahri.
"We wanted the distances to be near, so people can hail a cab or drive down for just one or two occasions. It's how we tied up with particular pubs. It's a crawl and not a race, hence people can take their time and even skip a couple of spots if they wish to," she shares, adding that a briefing about the game and route will be given along with a handy bag with the instructions for the crawl. "We have activated the Lure module all along the rout to make it easier to populate monsters around pokéstops, in order to attract more Pokémons in the vicinity during the event that will be marked out on your map.

This will also make it easier for individuals to find rare Pokemon and stay interested throughout the evening. The modules will be strategically plotted near the bar to ensure that you get at least a few pocket monsters at each bar," says Dharia as The Lure module can be activated for multiple players, hence even if one is not a part of the crawl but happens to be in the area, they can benefit from it.

While carrying a battery pack is recommended, there will also be charging points at the pubs and even Wi-fi at a few. To end things on a high, the last bar on the route, Bombay Bronx will host a sundowner after party.
