Hast Karigar Society, a Delhi-based NGO, is presenting their annual exhibition-cum-sale, Impressions, for the seventh year
Traditional Rabha weaves
Of all the gorgeous, intricate crafts to be presented this year, we suggest you don't miss out on the unique works by the relatively unknown Rabha tribal community.
This tribe hails from the forests that border Assam and West Bengal. Rabha women are skilled in weaves with colourful and flowing floral and geographical patterns.

They weave mostly for their own use, and for festivals and marriages.
Hast Karigar Society, in collaboration with Uttar Banga Bon-Jan Shramajeevi Mancha, has taken an initiative to revive this traditional Rabha weave, by providing them with an opportunity to earn their livelihood through marketing support.
Women of Mendabari village of the Chilapata forests (West Bengal) will also join this initiative this year.
Till: November 1, 10.30 am to 7 pm
At: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS), Kala Ghoda, Fort.
