As part of the Global Crisis Simulation 2014, student delegates from around the world will debate over three days, to find solutions for crisis situations
The Global Crisis Simulation 2015
With the aim to offer governments, businesses and non-profit organisations peaceful solutions in situations of crisis, the city-based St Xavier's College will play host to the Global Crisis Simulation (GCS) 2015, a debating challenge based on the rules of the Harvard Model United Nations system.

Organised by the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, and hosted by the St Xavier's College, the GCS will have 200 student delegates from around the globe working to find solutions out of a situation of crisis. The GCS Crisis room, staffed by volunteers, will devise crises that will enable delegates to work both independently and together as a committee, keeping in mind the tri-sector approach - governments, businesses and non-profit organisations.
Some of the situations open for simulations are - the Delhi Metro Rail collapse in 2010 before the Commonwealth Games, how foreign nations influence domestic policies in India through private companies as well as creating a policy change in the South African nation of Angola to bring equilibrium in economic growth and social welfare.
The event will also feature a series of workshops aimed to impart awareness on how to solve situations of crisis. Registrations are on till February 11 and is restricted to students whereas the workshops (on February 13) are open for all.
