Stills from Bridgerton (L) and Stranger Things (R)

Betty and Veronica in Riverdale

Who better to start off this iconic friendships list with than Betty and Veronica? These two women came from different worlds but hit it off instantly. There may have been some bad blood in the beginning between the two when Veronica dated Archie, the man Betty was pining for, but all was resolved and well in the end. The fact that Veronica grabbed what she thought was a poisonous drink from Betty and drank it before Betty had the chance to, shows that these two are truly each other's ride or die

Archie and Jughead from Riverdale

These two couldn't be more different to each other – Jughead the classic angsty bad boy and Archie the popular athlete – but something drew them together when they were young, and they’ve remained close ever since. There have been plenty of ups and downs between two, but they never stray apart for too long

The Riverdale quartet

We can't possibly miss out on the entire gang together! From chilling and drinking milkshakes in Pop Tate's to taking down murderous villains, these four have seen it all and done it all together

Karan and Tara from Made in Heaven

It was a true joy to watch this unusual friendship blossom on-screen. Karan and Tara are business partners in a wedding planning agency, but they are also so much more than that. Karan is the only one Tara confides in when she finds out that her husband is cheating on her, and she is also the one to bail him out when he is arrested for 'unlawful' homosexual activity. When everything in their lives goes awry by the end of the series, these two friends still come back to each other's side

Jane Sloan, Kat Edison and Sutton Brady in The Bold Type

This show portrays the life of three feisty ladies who work for a global women’s magazine in New York City. Jane, Kat and Sutton navigate life, love and friendship in the Big Apple - and their bond is definitely one to remember

Devi, Eleanor and Fabiola from Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever delves into the life of first-generation Indian American teenager Devi, exploring her innocence, curiosity, and yearning for new experiences. And her friends Eleanor and Fabiola are right by her side as they figure out life together

Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair in Wednesday

Wednesday and Enid both land up as outcasts at Nevermore Academy. The two girls are polar opposites - Wednesday is the brooding misfit while Enid is full of colour and sunshine. Yet, a friendship of carefulness and respect slowly builds between the two and they eventually end up bringing out the best in each other

Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury in Bridgerton

Their friendship appears tentative but turns out that Lady Danbury has a lot of pull with the Queen! Queen Charlotte values Lady Danbury's opinion and takes her advice (from time to time, of course) as well

Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton in Bridgerton

Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton are brought together for the second time when Anthony courts Edwina and eventually proposes. They must try their best to keep their families' reputations intact, but it doesn't break a sweat for these two. The two scheming ladies join hands time and time again - and they have fun in the process! Now that's what we call a power friendship

Steve Harrington and Dustin Henderson in Stranger Things

At the Wheelers' house, a chance encounter brought together the endearing Demogorgon-fighting buddies, who teamed up to capture Dart and battle demo-dogs. During this adventure, Dustin supported Steve through his breakup with Nancy, and in return, Steve offered dating advice...and let's not forget the hairstyling tips

The Stranger Things gang

While the show has some truly remarkable and unusual friendships, we can't miss out on including our classic gang in this list. Mike, Lucas, Dustin and Will are just a nerdy quartet, until one of them disappears overnight. This incident disrupts an otherwise peaceful community, but the squad is determined to not give up on their missing friend - and enter Eleven!

Orange is the New Black

This show sees a diverse group of strong and fierce women who become friends behind bars. From Lolly Whitehill and Suzanne Warren to Poussey Washington and Tasha Jefferson, you need to watch this show for its incredible female friendships

Otis and Eric in Sex Education

Eric is Otis's literal 'gay best friend' - and he certainly lives up to that title. Eric roots for Otis whenever he flounders about his mother being a sex therapist and Otis in turn balances Eric's 'extra' side, and is also his bestie when it comes to his romantic pursuits. These two are figuring out how to grow up together - and we are here for it!

Maeve and Aimee in Sex Education

TW for sexual violence: Aimee is the posh girl who lives in a mansion on the hill and Maeve quite literally camps out in her trailer van. Maeve's no-nonsense attitude and Aimee's kindness and compassion make magic when they come together. A particular moving arc in the story follows Maeve being Aimee's biggest supporter after she is sexually assualted. These two exemplify girl power

The Four More Shots Please gang

Damini, Anjana, Umang and Siddhi become each other's backbone and voice of truth as they juggle work, romance, prejudice and singlehood amongst the blinding lights of Mumbai

Ruth Wilder and Debbie Eagon in GLOW

These two have parted ways but are hired to work together as arch-rivals. GLOW beautifully portrays how ex-friends might cope with working together and work through individual issues

Grace and Frankie in 'Grace and Frankie'

The story revolves around Grace and Frankie, whose lives take an unexpected turn when their husbands, Robert and Sol, disclose their 20-year affair and come out as gay. Despite their mutual disdain for each other, the two women are forced to live together after their divorces, leading to a series of comedic and intertwined fates. Their complicated yet heartwarming equation is definitely one to watch!

Tully Hart and Kate Mularke in Firefly Lane

The series revolves around these two best friends - bold and outspoken Tully and quiet Kate, and follows them over a span of three decades. The story centers around the two female protagonists, named after the street where they met and lived as teens. It explores their enduring bond and how they support each other through the defining ups and downs in their life, forming a deep and lasting connection

Dimple and Celina in Mismatched

Dimple and Celina meet after signing up for a computer course in a college and turn out to be roommates.  A classic yin and yang combination, Dimple is the studious hard worker, and she can always count on Celina to help lighten up the mood

Midge and Susie in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

If there is one thing Amy Sherman Palladino is a master of, it is creating the most beloved on-screen female characters and friendships. From giving Rory and Paris; and Lorelai and Sookie in Gilmore Girls, Midge and Susie are another pair of friends whose stunning chemistry will leave you speechless. Susie plays manager to Midge's 1960s NYC housewife turned standup comedian - but their bond goes so much deeper than that. These women are bold, they are brazen and frank and most of all, as hilarious as can be. In a world of men, their fierce loyalty towards each other stands out - and this friendship is definitely one of our favourites in the list
