Chitrangda Singh
Chitrangda Singh, recently seen playing Latika in the anthology âModern Love Mumbai,' joins mid-day.com for a chat about the film, love and romance, her love for writing and much more.
Speaking about how she relates to Latika from 'Cutting chai,' who has given up her dream of turning novelist to look after her husband, played by Arshad Warsi and kids, the actress says, "Making a woman feel guilty is the easiest thing to do. For a man it will take a long time! Usually we end up doing it ourselves, we don't need anybody else to do it for us, that's the sad part. Thinking of ourselves and what we want to do makes us feel guilty we are biologically wired like that, we have more emotions. We want to protect and give up for others and put the kids forward. It comes more naturally to us, which is also okay. You don't need to become a man to be a happy woman!"
Speaking about her love for writing in real life, the actress says, "I love writing and I realized it in 2014, just because I had a story to tell. The first time I wrote was when I produced 'Soorma.' When I got to know the story of Sandeep Singh, I wrote it out as a synopsis to pitch it to studios. I made a visual presentation of what his life is! It began there and now I enjoy writing."
