The Crown Season 6 (Part 1)
The tragic events of 1997 that killed Princess Diana will never be forgotten. In just a short couple of hours, two innocent children lost a mother, while the world lost their 'people's princess'. But another family lay gloomy and stricken: the Al Fayeds. The ill-fated car crash took the life of Dodi Al Fayed as well, the son of Mohamed Al Fayed. Their deaths set off conspiracy theories that have lasted for decades.
Now,' The Crown's' final season has reignited the stir about their deaths, with a whole new demographic of people wanting to know more about who Dodi Al Fayed was. Dodi Al-Fayed was the son of billionaire Mohamed Al-Fayed. He lived a life that was split between films and movies and high-society galavanting. He was born with the name Emad El-Din Mohamed Abdel Mena'em Fayed in 1955. His extravagant upbringing includes education at high-society schools like Le Rosey in Switzerland and Sandhurst Military Academy. He was also involved with several high-profile ladies, like Julia Roberts, Brooke Shields, Suzanne Gregard, Kelly Fisher, and many more.

One of the most tense moments of season 6 that really set the stage for the climax of the movie was when Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed were escaping fans in Monaco when they suddenly found themselves in a jewellery store to seek refuge. Dodi says, "There are worse places to be trapped than a jewellery store," Dodi says to Diana, as she's panicking. "Is there anything here you like? Anything at all?" He asks Diana replies, "No, there's nothing I need," to which Dodi says, "There must be something you like." She points to a ring and says, "That's quite nice," and Dodi realises it's a ring from their Dis-moi Oui! collection. In reality, the events that transpired weren't as grave and dramatic. Diana and Dodi reportedly did visit that store, a store that goes unnamed in the series but is actually called 'Repossi' where she picked out a ring. Jeweller Alberto Repossi divulged in an interview with the Washington Post after their deaths that the two came into the store on August 20th. The post also stated, "They spent only about four or five minutes in the store, Repossi said, because they already knew which ring they wanted."
When the inquest into Dodi and Diana's deaths began in 2007, Repossi told the jury how the couple had visited his Monte Carlo store and picked out the ring. After a few days, Dodi called Repossi to ask him to resize the ring for August. "He told me he needed the ring by the end of August because at the beginning of September their engagement would be announced," Repossi stated. "I told him that we would do everything necessary. It was quite a short conversation."
