Over the past one-and-a-half years, we have witnessed the OTT revolution in India, with digital entertainment emerging as the most dynamic sector in showbiz. Joining the fray is Lionsgate Play as it gears up to launch its Indian originals. The OTT platform will kick off its slate of originals next month with a yet-untitled series featuring Lara Dutta and Prateik Babbar. The Kunal Kohli-directed series is an adaptation of the hit Hulu offering, Casual, which was nominated at the 2016 Golden Globes for the Best TV Comedy.
mid-day got a sneak peek into the comedy that will see Dutta and Babbar as siblings, who are dealing with their own challenges and baggage as they navigate the world of dating, love and separation. The platform's roster will also include indigenous stories like U-Special and Feels Like Home. A source says, "Feels like Home features Vishnu Kaushal, Prit Kamani, Anshuman Malhotra, and Mihir Ahuja, among others. U-Special is a college drama helmed by Akarsh and Adhaar Khurana. The cast includes Sumeet Vyas, Arjun Mathur, Parambrata Chatterjee, Rukshar Dhillon, and Gopal Datt."
